From the desk of Amanda

I recently came across an inspiring TED Talk about the "Three C's": Confidence, Communication, and Community. Reflecting on this talk, I couldn’t help but see how these principles are deeply intertwined with our work at Precious Angels and how these concepts resonate with what we do and why they’re crucial for us:

CONFIDENCE

Our Support Workers:

  • Confidence in our support workers grows from having the right skills and knowledge. We are committed to providing ongoing training and opportunities for our team to develop their abilities.

  • Confidence also comes from pushing beyond comfort zones and embracing new challenges. We encourage our support workers to continually learn and grow, which enhances their confidence and effectiveness in their roles.

Our Families:

  • We understand that families need to be confident in the care provided to their loved ones. Our goal is to ensure that you feel secure knowing that your family members are safe, well-cared-for, and thriving with each new experience.

COMMUNICATION

Building Strong Relationships:

  • Communication is the cornerstone of our relationships. It allows us to share experiences, express needs, and connect meaningfully with one another.

  • Effective communication prevents misunderstandings and helps us stay connected. We strive for clarity in all interactions and are always open to feedback to ensure we’re meeting your needs and expectations.

COMMUNITY

Creating a Sense of Belonging:

  • Being part of a community fosters mental health and emotional well-being. It provides a sense of belonging and helps develop our individual and collective identities.

  • We are honoured to be a part of the vibrant communities of our Angel Families. Your support and involvement enrich our work and help us grow stronger together.

By embracing these three principles—Confidence, Communication, and Community—we aim to create an environment where everyone feels valued and supported. Thank you for being an integral part of our journey.

If you have any thoughts or feedback on these aspects, please don’t hesitate to share.

Exploring our senses and taking excursions around the city, we've been having fun bringing joy to our participants.

Out with the Angels

We went bowling, dined out, line danced, gone to the movies, had adventures at Mt. Coo-tha and out in the wild. Our last weeks have been a whirlwind of activities, filled with smiles and positive interactions! :)

Caleb and Enoch are clearly chuffed standing next to their completed IKEA flat-pack. You can tell they're feeling super proud of themselves for nailing the challenge as a team.

We like projects like this so we can help give a sense of satisfaction and confidence to tackle even more projects down the road!
