Mackay Office Number (07) 4846 1964. Mackay Afterhours number 0493 248 053.

From the desk of Amanda:

We are busy updating staff employment contracts following the 5.75% pay increase to the SCHADS Award. These are coinciding with staff appraisals and performance reviews.

We are also still very much in the middle of updating Service Agreements, Risk Assessments, Schedules of Supports and Individual Support Plans for all of our Angel Families.

I am excited to be celebrating Christmas in July with our Castle Crew. We normally shut down over Christmas, so its lovely to have an extra Christmas to celebrate.

I know we haven't had a staff social in a while so please pencil in the 4th August. We will be doing something a little bit different. I'd like us to meet off site - outside of work. Stay tuned.

Source Kids expo is on the weekend of 29 and 30 August - a mere 2 weeks away! We always have great time at this expo, and look forward to seeing lots of familiar faces.

Thank you to people who send in photos - do you know you can also add them to your Brevity timesheet?

We are looking to start trialing Brevity with some of our Angel Families so if you'd like to be a part of this trial please let me know.

@The Castle

At The Castle this week we celebrated NAIDOC week and Christmas in July. We listened to indigenous artists and played traditional indigenous games like Jillora and Bunbuja. We also made s'mores and buried Finn in the ball pit! He loved the marshmallows so much! Enoch giving Titan some love, Emmett making some playdough, baking with Lily, Karen and Ethan and our young man Luke enjoying respite. When he saw the fountain he immediately went for a swim! haha

Out with the Brisbane Angels

Community access is super important for our participants and we love doing various and diverse activities with them. This week we have great photos of Enoch, Joel, Caleb, Jaydon, Finn, Cezanne and The Castle Crew venturing out to enjoy a pub lunch with our participants. Lily, Toby and Cezanne in particular love going to the pub and we love the smiles they get when they find out where we're going for lunch. Jaydon drank so much water that he had to lay down but he was steadfast that he was fine! Finn went bowling and smashed some cake. Caleb had a smashing time at the Rage Cage too. What a fortnight!

Out with Mackay Angels

This week at Mackay we have Ms Kaitlyn going shopping at Bunnings as well as Charlotte cooking and enjoying an art gallery.

Photo of the Week

This fortnight's winner is a scenic Mackay photo. Repeat after me: double rainbowwwwww!

Angel of the Fortnight

The Angel Award this fortnight is going to Rob!

Rob has been a part of our team since 2019. Not only does he deliver fantastic care, as our HS&E rep he constantly strives to make sure our Angel Families and staff are safe and looked after. Precious Angels are lucky to have him.

Rob, thanks for everything you do!
