Angel Archives - 23/08/2024

New Families - Our Angel Support Workers are now able to service more of Brisbane - including North Gold Coast and South Sunshine Coast - so please share the word. The Castle is preparing for 2024 school leavers and we look forward to meeting new families soon.

New Staff- We have recruited some new Angels! Andrew and James have been training at the Castle and have started meeting families. In the coming week we are inducting and training Abbey M (another one!) and Angus. Our newest Angels are young and keen to hit the ground running, and we look forward to introducing them to you soon!

We also employed a new RN before I went on leave - her name is Simmi and she has been going through our care plans. We look forward to training and reviews with Simmi in the coming weeks.

From the desk of Amanda

I am back, gentle readers! (subtle Bridgerton reference). Peru was AMAZING! I spent 2 days in the Amazon jungle basin, visited Lima, Cuzco, Ollantaytambo, Aguas Calientes, Puno, Lake Titicaca (and her floating islands!) Taquile Island, La Paz and Santiago. And of course, Machu Picchu. The 4 day hike through the Andes to Machu Picchu was a seriously fantastic way to celebrate 50 turns around the sun!

Dillon, Apple, Kayla and Toni did a wonderful job keeping the home fires burning, and I am truly grateful to be supported by these amazing people, Thank You!

Now its time to turn our focus to providing our Angel Families with reliable, well trained, competent support workers. We continue to develop and mentor our support workers and communicate with our Angel Families to ensure we provide the best support we can. With the addition of Simmi (our RN) to our team, we can be doubly sure we are not only meeting NDIS Practice Standards, but the expectations of our Angel Families also.

It is almost school holidays (Term 3 ends Friday 13 September) and Apple has her Castle program ready, and Kayla is working on fun activities for our Respite visitors also.

We have implemented our new fee schedule and are in the very long process of contacting families and their support coordinators/plan managers to update our schedules of support.

@The Castle

It feels like forever since we last chatted! We trust your holidays and getting back to school has been bustling with business. Ours were filled with cooking, dressing up, toy-making, enjoying pet visits, and exploring the world and friendships around us.

We had 3 birthdays to celebrate at The Castle, Happy birthday to Cezanne, Connor and Ethan!

Out with the Angels

We went bowling, dined out, line danced, gone to the movies, had adventures at Mt. Cootha and out in the wild. Our holidays and back to school season have been a whirlwind of activities, filled with smiles and positive interactions! :)
