From the desk of Amanda

As we close out 2024, this will be our final newsletter for the year. I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for the unwavering support you’ve given throughout the year.

While we’ve faced our share of challenges, I’m proud to say that we’re ending the year with a sense of focused optimism.

Naomi’s new role as Client Relations & Staff Development Manager is already proving to be a great asset, bringing a higher level of professionalism to our organisation. Apple continues to do an amazing job as Castle Coordinator, ensuring the Castle Program is meeting its mission to foster socialisation among our participants, while engaging them in community activities and local entertainment. Dillon’s role as Assistant Manager continues to grow, as he now manages staff rosters, ensures continuity of care for our families, and helps maintain operational compliance. Rob’s work in Work Health & Safety/Compliance is invaluable, ensuring we’re adhering to restrictive practice policies, incident management, and reporting, and he also serves as an indirect family liaison through his home safety checks.

Brendan and Tim have provided valuable assistance in Back of House operations. Brendan has helped with creating newsletters and managing our website and social media presence, while Tim has worked hard to ensure all our data is up to date and securely stored within our systems

Toni, our amazing administrative support, has been the backbone of ensuring staff compliance with documents and training, timely invoicing, and managing the small tasks that keep our office running smoothly. We wish Toni all the best as she has recently resigned from our organisation.

We also bid farewell to Kayla, our former Respite Coordinator, and extend a warm welcome to Abbey Howard, who has stepped into the role. Abbey has stepped into the role with grace and is already enhancing her nursing skills, making her an excellent fit.

As we reflect on the year, we also want to take a moment to remember little Charlie, who left us in October. Charlie, along with Gabby, Amber, and Marcus, will always be remembered with love and laughter. They are poignant reminders of why services like ours are so important and the profound impact of the work we do.

Every single person on our team of Angels has excelled this year. I want to personally thank each of you for the hard work and dedication you bring to your Disability Support Worker roles every day. Your commitment makes all the difference, and it’s because of you that we continue to thrive as an organisation.

To our incredible team members—Abbey D, Abbey H, Abbey M, Amber, Amina, Andrew, AJ, Angus, Axton, Brendan, Casey, Connor, Denise (M), Emily, Etu, Gazelle (M), Haseeb, Holly, Inno, James, Jessica, Jeydi, Joanne, John, Jonny, Josephine (M), Karen, Lawrence, Leeanne, Liz, Louis, Lynne, Mekhayla, Mel, Mia, Moni, Rebecca, Rob , Sally, Sam, Skyler, Sukumar, Tim, Tina and Tom — I couldn’t be more proud of the progress we’ve made together.

Looking ahead to 2025, we’re filled with excitement for the opportunities and growth the new year will bring.

Thank you once again for your continued support, and I wish you all a joyful and restful holiday season.

Amanda

@The Castle

At The Castle, we’ve been diving into sensory and dexterity activities, and it’s been such a fun and rewarding time. From painting and crafts to exploring textures and techniques, there’s always something new to try. We’ve even worked in a little relaxation with foot massages—and we’re pretty sure Finn absolutely loved it! It’s great to see everyone engaging, creating, and enjoying these hands-on experiences.

Out with the Angels

Bowling, karaoke, dining out, exploring the city, and visiting scenic lookouts—helping our participants enjoy these experiences is something we truly treasure. There's nothing better than creating smiles and memories while engaging with the world together.

Photo of the Fortnight

This month’s photo might not be the most visually stunning, but we picked it because it showcases some awesome growth with Caleb, Luke, and Enoch. They’ve been socialising, playing together, and building stronger relationships. At Precious Angels, we’re all about creating a caring community among our participants—it’s amazing to see the unexpected but wonderful connections that can happen!

Angel Award

The last Angel Award of the year is awarded to Andrew!

Andrew is a fairly new member to the Precious Angels family and he has been like a sponge. Taking to training like a duck to water. Andrew is competent, caring and kind.

Thanks for your continued efforts throughout the year.
